Our story

We're not a perfect-health couple. We're a real-life one.

Disability, caregiving, marriage, setbacks, health changes, work, family, and a lot of ordinary days shaped Resilient Health.

Why “Resilient Health”?

To us, resilient health means health that survives real-life stress. It means habits that last, the ability to deal with hard things, and knowing how to recover after setbacks instead of deciding you failed.

We both changed our health through the same health system we now coach with. Weight loss mattered, but the bigger story is what changed around it: routines, confidence, energy, strength, mindset, and the way we approach our future.

Some friends have called us “RyAngela.” We kind of like it.

Our health journey

What changed for us

Ryan before-and-after face comparison

Ryan

Ryan estimates that he started above 200 pounds; accurately weighing him in a wheelchair was difficult. He reached about 160 pounds in roughly four months and is now primarily maintaining. He also noticed substantially less swelling, better sleep, clothes fitting differently, and a better fit in his wheelchair.

Starting weight is an estimate. These are Ryan’s personal experiences, not promised outcomes.

Angela

Angela has had more than one chapter in her health journey. This image reflects an earlier chapter; in a more recent phase, she moved from about 162 pounds to about 136 and continues working on strength, fitness, and her own goals.

Her story is a reminder that progress is not always linear.

Together:

We learned that getting off track is not the same thing as being back at the beginning. A resilient plan is one you can return to.

Progress, not perfection

We are still doing this.

This comparison includes a December 2025 photo and reflects one point in an ongoing journey — not a finish line. Health keeps moving, and so do we.
